Moving your fax number to our service is called "Porting". Whether you have a local number or a toll-free number like "1-800" or a "1-888" number we can probably move it to our service.
Here's How
Typically, we’ll ask you for two bits of content:
- A Signed LOA – Letter of Authorization. We’ll provide the document that authorizes us to move your number(s) to our service. Send an email requesting an LOA to support@faxcloudbiz.com
- A PDF of a recent Telco Bill showing your number, and your company name. We need this to confirm you actually own the use of this number.
What's Next
Email us the completed LOA and your Telco bill and we’ll submit the port request to our Telco. We’ll keep you up to date as to when the port is ready and activated. If you wish you can specify the number should become immediately available or you can pick a day and time for it to go live. We’ll of course, setup the inbound routing to notify your chosen user(s) of activity.
How Long Does It Take
Typically 7 business days, however some numbers have ported in as little as 24 hours. It all depends on getting the paperwork and addresses right and how quickly your Telco can make the change – unlike porting cell phone numbers, this is still a manual process for all Telco’s.
